    Description

We are offering a Wilbur H. Murray Mfg. Co. (Cincinnati, Ohio) catalogue of vehicles, harnesses and saddles for the 1904 season.  (7 1/2" x 10 1/2"; 176 pages) The catalog is bound together with cord, and comes with an unused order form and a return envelope.
The catalog is filled with all kinds of vehicles priced from .98 to 2.50,
    with
    beautiful illustrations on EVERY PAGE
and detailed descriptions of each one.
In the catalog are fancy road wagons, offfered with different colored upholstery, with names like Royal Stanhope, Suburban Stanhope, and Boulevard Stanhope.
The Rockaway carriage with a winter front and sash doors was the most expensive vehicle with a price of 2.50.
There are dozens of buggies with tops and carriages accommodating one to six passengers; 18 different surrays; Extension Cabriolets; and pony carts of different types.
There are also many styles of vehicles specifically made for businesses and certain occupations, some with rear doors, including:
the Physician's Stanhope; glass-side Hotel Bus; Undertaker's Wagon; Gardener's Wagon; Milk Wagon; U.S. Rural Mail Wagon; Laundry Wagon; Farm and Plantation Carts; Ice Cream Wagon; Railroad and Contractor's Cart; and one & two-horse Farm Wagons.  Also, one that's especially interesting -
a Meat Wagon with sliding shelves, a chopping block, and a salt meat box most likely containing different kinds of meat -
that apparently the butcher or his employee would drive through the streets to reach customers who possibly couldn't get to the store [like the ice cream man who comes around, only in this case it's meat], and the meat would be cut right there on the chopping block according to how much the customer wanted.
Pretty interesting!  Also offered in the catalog are all the extras, accessories and parts that could be purchased.
Besides the above, there are many kinds of harnesses, saddles and bridles; and three pages of testimonials from satisfied customers.
CONDITION: The catalog is in Beautiful Condition.  Embossed in gold lettering on the cover is the William H. Murray name, and an embossed horse's head.  The cover flips open from the left side to reveal a very nice color illustration of a man and woman riding through the countryside in a Murray carriage.  The cover is very good, but the seam where it folds over to the front has been taped, we assume because there was some separation at the seam.
