    Description

You won't find another one like this as it was produced in very small numbers for a small town bank - Auburn Cooperative Bank which no longer exists -  to mark both the 50th Anniversary and location of Goddard's first liquid propelled rocket launch, and their 25th Anniversary as a gift to their best customers
A rare find for the space exploration or Goddard collector!
Vintage Porcelain china PLATE features an illustration of a concerned looking Robert Goddard launching the first liquid fueled rocket on March 16, 1926
Goddard pioneered many concepts of modern rocketry, and after his death, NASA named the Goddard Space Flight Center for him
He was awarded 214 patents, and is credited with inventing gyroscopic guidance for rockets in 1932 and the precursor to the BAZOOKA in 1914
Plate was produced for the now-defunct Auburn Cooperative Savings Bank in Massachusetts
Excellent unused condition with no sign of wear or utensil marks on the plate surface
    9 1/4" in diameter
