    Description

Here's a Railroad Field Telephone.  I got it at the estate sale of a retired CP Rail employee who also collected all sort of RR stuff.  This phone was made by Northern Electric Co. Ltd.  Not sure of the age but I'm thinking 1950's to 60's.  Heavy hinged aluminum case measures 5" by 7" by 9" and has some of the original brown paint.  The web strap is tender and not usable.  Inside holds the phone receiver with wire and a battery of some sort.  Terminal for connecting to RR system.  There's a schematic label inside the lid that's worn and faded but still readable.  Neat piece of RR history.
