    The Fabulous PORSCHE 917 by Peter Hinsdale
    Rare softbound book, 96 large pages, for years the only book you could find on the legendary '917' racing Porsche. The car that dominated World Sports Car Racing  in the late '60's and early '70's and then, with turbos added, the Can Am series in the USA and Interserie in Europe. It was also famously the car Steve McQueen drove in the movie LE MANS.
    Lots of quite technical shots of engines chassis, suspension and so forth as well as race history and a lot of action photos. The ultimate version of the 917 (the 1500bhp '917-30) was still being built when this book was written in 1972. The book is a little worn, inevitable for a large format landscape softback of this age, see photos and description above.
