Description
This is a page from The Delineator for October of 1915. It is a Liquid Veneer Advertisement, Buffalo Specialty Company, Buffalo N.Y., U.S.A. and Bridgeburg, Ont., Canada. The Delineator was a journal of fashion, culture and fine arts that was produced from 1873 to 1937 when it was merged with Pictorial Review. What I love about this magazine advertisement is that it's a glimpse into another time. It was created in a time when a lot of or most advertisements were still illustrated. It depicts a housewife in the Victorian Era holding a bottle of Liquid Veneer and using a dust cloth. Both of which are advertised as a buy one get one free in the ad. Buy the 50 cent bottle of Liquid Veneer and get their 25 cent dust cloth free. "If your dealer has no dust cloths, have him send your coupon to us and get one for you."
The back of the page features more ads containing more insight to the time period and the way the world worked back then. Featuring either side, t
his page would look great in a vintage frame hanging on a wall or as a fantastic addition to a coffee table book.
