Up for auction at the Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio is an
Antique Chinese Official’s Arm Chair with carved flower medallion on the back splat and
bubugao
“step higher” stretchers
. This key attribute to the official’s chair, stepped up stretchers with one higher than the other, shows the superior status of the seated person. Fine collector’s piece. Qing Dynasty. Circa: 1880.
