    Description

    Handsome fold-out 1962 Esso road map of Pennsylvania, printed more than 57 years ago.
    The map opens to 18" x 33½" and
    has good detail on old highway alignments, with
    cartography by the General Drafting Company.
    There are inset plans of Scranton, Erie, Reading, Allentown, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg.
    The front cover artwork shows an Amish horse carriage and barn in Pennsylvania Dutch Country.
    This map was issued by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand. It is dated November 1962 in the legend, and the code number on the rear panel is W962.
